Your building is a unique blend of architectural salvage and high quality build using modern carpentry and insulation techniques. We aim to provide a robust building with low maintenance needs. To help you enjoy your Tabernacle for many years and see it passed onto the next generation, we give you some simple guidelines for its care.

  • Choose a site that will help protect it from the elements.
  • Repaint all external woodwork every 3-5 years.
  • Repaint the corrugated tin every 10-12 years.

If you are able to cover it, or move it to a covered area during the winter months this will keep maintenance to a minimum and prolong the life expectancy of the paintwork. However, it is not essential that it is covered in the winter as these are built to withstand the test of time and weather. The salvaged components of the buildings are the items that need most protection. So ensure that they are protected with regular repaints and that doors and windows are closed properly to keep out rain when not in use.

We also recommend storing all curtains, mattresses and soft furnishings inside a heated, watertight property over winter.
